Title: Challenges for Floating Infrastructure: Proposals for Infrastructure Construction in the Marine Environment

Over the past 40 years, cable-supported bridges have been a central theme in construction. From only three cable-supported bridges in the early 1980s, the number has grown to 87 as of 2025, including 15 currently under construction. Surrounded by the sea on three sides and separated by the Demilitarized Zone to the north, South Korea is effectively an island nation with 3,348 islands. As a result, projects connecting islands to the mainland have been actively pursued, making South Korea the country that has most actively constructed cable-supported bridges worldwide, as illustrated in Figure 1......
